How Joomla Came Into Existence?

Joomla is a fork project of Mambo (formerly named Mambo Open Source or MOS), which started as a proprietary content management system developed by Miro Construct Pty Ltd. The company was registered in March 2000 in Melbourne and in 2002 released a commercial CMS called Mambo 2002. At SEO Web Up we have the best team of Joomla SEO Experts on board.

In the year 2004, Linux Format awarded Mambo as the “Best Free Software Project” of the Year soon after which it was targeted by legal threats concerning the intellectual property rights to certain pieces of code contained in the core.

On August 17, 2005 Joomla started as a result of a fork of Mambo. On September 22, 2005 Joomla 1.0 was released as a rebranded release of Mambo 4.5.2.3 that combined other bug and moderate-level security fixes.
